This talk will showcase a new demo board from Infineon Technologies, which uses the Auxiliary Resonant Commutated Pole technology in the AC to DC stage, as the first of its kind. By using the ARCP in a CCM totem pole PFC, the switching losses are drastically reduced, enabling higher power density and efficiency than the traditional interleaved totem pole PFC and the 3-level totem pole PFC. The DC to DC stage of the PSU is a half-bridge LLC with a high-efficiency integrated transformer design with planar PCBs. The PFC reaches 99.26% efficiency, while the full PSU reaches 98% without a fan and 97.8% with fan consumption included. The PSU complies with the Server ORV3 specification. The purpose of the presentation is to demonstrate how the ARCP topology is implemented and how it can enable best-in-class performance for demanding server and AI PSU applications.
