This presentation outlines the key requirements for designing a medical IEC 60601-compliant power supply. It is an international standard that is compulsory in every country for medical equipment to be marketed. The standard includes all safety aspects, including protection against leakage current, isolation, electrical shock, fire, mechanical hazards, EMC, and more. The standard has requirements on isolation classification (type B, BF, CF), magnetic design, PCB spacing, and manufacturing and quality control, which the presentation will discuss and give an overview.
Target Audience:
Power Engineers and Medical systems engineers/architects who use, design, or want to learn more about medical power supplies.
