This paper proposes a novel single-stage non-isolated single-phase inverter based on a six-switch buck-boost (SSBB) converter followed by an unfolding bridge. Due to the flying capacitor in the boost-stage of the SSBB, the converter can achieve high gain with small passive components, leading to higher power density. Moreover, single-stage topology reduces switching losses and enables high power efficiency. In this paper, the operating modes and modulation techniques of the SSBB for generating a half-sine voltage are explained. The performance of the proposed inverter and its modulation technique is validated through simulation and experiments.
