This paper presents a Multi-ZVS-Bus multiphase Buck converter for high-current VRM applications. The operation principle, design and test result of a 12-ZVS-Bus 12-phase 48 V-to-1 V / 750 A prototype are presented. By using ZVS technique with minimum resonant component count, high-current DrMOS with low-inductance package and metal power core inductor with soft-saturation characteristic, a high-frequency (up to 1 MHz), high-efficiency ( up to 93.5% peak efficiency), high-current (up to 62.5 A per-phase), compact ( up to 1025 W/in^3 ) VRM solution is proposed. Future work will include design optimization of the resonant network and more detailed experimental test results.
