This paper presents a novel bridgeless AC–DC step-up converter for medium‑voltage DC (MVdc) systems, replacing conventional diodes in the rectifier stage with actively controlled MOSFET switches. The proposed single-stage architecture integrates an interleaved bridgeless boost rectifier, high-frequency resonant converter, and stacked voltage multiplier modules. By employing active switches, the design enables bidirectional operation, significantly reduces conduction and reverse‑recovery losses, and achieves soft‑switching (ZVS/ZCS) for all semiconductor devices without auxiliary circuits.
