This paper proposes a deadbeat current control (DBCC) with grid-connected single-phase 3-level flying capacitor multilevel totem-pole PFC (FCML-TPP). Although proportional-integral (PI) controller is generally used to control the gird current, its performance is often limited in suppressing the zero-current distortions caused by deadtime. Therefore, this paper utilizes the inductor voltage-current relationship to calculate a future current at the k+1th sample. The reference duty cycle is determined based on the relationship between the future current and reference current. Furthermore, an additional compensation duty cycle is calculated to minimize zero-current distortions induced by deadtime. The proposed method achieves improved current THD compared to the PI controller. The validity of the proposed method is verified through simulation results.
