Prof. Kaushik Basu received the B.E. degree from Bengal Engineering and Science University, Shibpore, India, in 2003, the M.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore, in 2005, and the Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, in 2012, under the guidance of the late Prof. Ned Mohan.
He worked as a Design Engineer at Cold Watt India in 2006 and as an Electronics and Control Engineer at Dynapower Corporation, USA, from 2013 to 2015. He is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering, IISc. He has co-authored over 100 peer-reviewed papers and received the Second Best Prize Paper Award from IEEE Transactions on Transportation Electrification (2021) and the Best Paper Award at IEEE NPEC (2023). He served as Technical Program Committee Vice-Chair of IEEE ECCE in 2020 and 2022. He is the founding chair of the IEEE PELS and IES Bangalore Chapters, an IEEE Senior Member, and a Regional (R10) Distinguished Lecturer of IEEE PELS. His editorial roles include Associate Editor of IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics. His research interests span power electronic converter design for applications in space, renewable energy, storage, and electric vehicle fast charging.
