North Atlantic Industries
Vito D’Erasmo holds an MSEE degree from NYU Polytechnic University and a BSEE from Hofstra University on Long Island where he works as a Technology Manager at North Atlantic Industries. He has previously worked as an Engineering Manager at North Atlantic Industries and Lambda Electronics for a combined period of 25 years. In that time, he has pioneered digital control of power systems and automation of test systems at these companies. He has a prior 20 year experience as a design engineer on high power inverters and high voltage and low voltage supplies for high reliability applications.
Vito is an active member of the VME International Trade Association (VITA.com). This organization writes standards for the high-performance computing industry. Vito has written and has contributed to several standards and has made many presentations concerning mechanical details, performance, and power supplies. Vito has written a power supply guide appearing on the VITA website as training material. Vito holds a patent for an Insulation System augmenting high voltage, high altitude performance of standard VITA connectors.
In 2024 Vito provided a lecture on impedance matching at the IEEE PELS Symposium on Long Island. Alongside the lecture, tools using SPICE software was provided to allow attendees to apply this analysis to their own activities. A novel approach to model current mode control was presented as part of this lecture.
