Mr. Georgios Salagiannis is currently pursuing a PhD on the subject of “Power Electronic Converters for interfacing voltage sources with Microgrids” at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Patras, Greece.
His main research interests include Power Electronics, high gain step-up DC-DC Converters for RES and ESS integration, Multiport Converters, DC Microgrids, Systematic and Algorithmic Converter Design, Machine Learning and its applications on Power Electronics.
He is the first author of one paper in an international peer reviewed scientific journal and he has participated in two conferences (ECCE Europe 2024, EPE 2025), one as first author.
He was granted the "Andreas Mentzelopoulos Foundation" grant during the first 3 years of his PhD research. Additionally, he has worked in projects concerning electrical power system design for tethered drones and in one Horizon project on machine learning. Prior to starting his PhD, he worked for a year and a half as a Research & Development engineer at Raycap S.A. in the field of telecom power supply design. Also, he has completed an internship at the Hellenic Electricity Distribution Network Operator.
Mr. Salagiannis is a member of the Technical Chamber of Greece and he has knowledge of the Greek, English and French Languages.
