University of Florida
Vafa Marzang (Graduate Student Member, IEEE) received his B.Sc. degree in Electronics Engineering from Mohaghegh Ardabili University, Ardabil, Iran 2016, and his M.Sc. degree in Power Electronics and Electrical Machines from the University of Tabriz, Tabriz, Iran, in 2019. From 2019 to 2021, he worked as a researcher at the University of Tabriz, and from 2022 to 2023, he worked as a visiting research assistant at Qatar University, Doha, Qatar. In August 2023, he started his Ph.D. studies at the University of Dayton in Dayton, Ohio, under the guidance of Prof. Dong Cao. Since then, he has been actively contributing to a NASA Clean project, concentrating on the design and development of a 1.2kV/3.6 MVA electric aircraft powertrain. In Spring 2025, he transferred his Ph.D. studies to the University of Florida, where he is now under the guidance of Professor Shuo Wang in the PEEPRL group. His research interests encompass DC-DC converters, DC-AC inverters, electric aircraft powertrains, dynamic modeling of power electronic converters, figure of merit evaluation for wide bandgap semiconductors, and electromagnetic interference of power electronic converters.
