36 years of academic, industrial, and entrepreneurial experience in the field of power electronics, power semiconductor devices and ICs, renewable energy systems, protection of DC and AC microgrids, transportation electrification, and ICT power supply. Published around 400 journal and conference papers (including two IEEE Transaction Prize Paper awards), two Springer books (editor), eight book chapters, and 22 issued U.S. patents. Elected to Fellow of the U.S. National Academy of Inventors in 2018 and Fellow of IEEE in 2010. Recipient of the 2023 IEEE Power Electronic Society (PELS) Technical Achievement Award for Integration and Miniaturization of Switching Power Converters, the 2012 IEEE Region 3 Outstanding Engineer Award (a single annual award among 30,000 IEEE members in Region 3), the 2012 E. T. Walton Fellowship from Science Foundation of Ireland, the 2003 NSF CAREER Award, the 1996 Motorola Science and Technology Award, and the 2020 Illinois Institute of Technology Senior Faculty Sigma Xi Research Award. Inducted to the International Symposium on Power Semiconductor Devices and ICs (ISPSD) Hall of Fame in 2023.
