Miroslav Vasic (Senior Member, IEEE) was born in Serbia, in 1981. He received the B.S. degree in electrical engineering from the School of Electrical
Engineering, University of Belgrade, Belgrade, Serbia, in 2005, and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in industrial electronics from the Centro de Electronica Industrial, Escuela Tecnica Superior de Ingenieros Industriales (ETSII), Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM), Madrid, Spain, in 2007 and 2010, respectively. He has been an Associate Professor with the Centro de Electronica Industrial, ETSII, UPM, since 2019. In recent years, a great part of his research activities has been related to the research of new semiconductor devices based on gallium nitride and their impact on power
electronics. He has authored or coauthored more than 70 peer-reviewed technical papers at conferences and in IEEE journals, and he advised eight Ph.D. theses and holds seven patents. His research interests include the application of power converters and their optimization.
Dr. Vasic was a recipient of the Semikron Innovation Award for the teamwork on “RF Power Amplifier With Increased Efficiency and Bandwidth” in 2012,
a medal from the Spanish Royal Academy of Engineering as a recognition of his research trajectory in 2015, and the UPM Research Projection Award for
the Best Young Researcher at UPM in 2016. He was one of the cofounders of the Technical Committee on Design Methodologies of IEEE Power Electronics Society and acted as the Vice-Chair from 2021 to 2023.
