Uzair Asif (Student Member, IEEE) received his B.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Engineering & Technology, Lahore, Pakistan, in 2020. From 2021 to 2023, he served as a Design Engineer in the renewable energy sector, contributing to the research, design, and performance evaluation of large-scale solar PV plants and battery energy storage systems. He has been pursuing his Ph.D. in Electrical & Computer Engineering from the University of Illinois, Chicago since January 2024. His research interests include the control of power-electronics converters for high penetration of renewable energy sources and the enhancement of microgrid cybersecurity, leveraging machine learning and artificial intelligence tools. He also serves as the Technical Chair for Student and Young Professional Activities within the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society's Smart Grid Chapter.
