Shibaji Basu, Resaerch Assistant, Queen's Unversity, ON, Canada.
I have obtained my doctoral degree from Queen's University in Canada on January 2025. My thesis is titled 'Offshore Wind Turbine DC-DC Converter for Direct Interface to HVDC Grid'. I have developed two variants of step up DC-DC converter suited for offshore wind turbine applications. I have also developed systems for fast EV battery chargers and photovoltaic micro-inverters. My expertise spans across system-level design, mathematical modeling, and experimental validation, with a particular emphasis on achieving high-efficiency and soft-switching conditions for power conversion systems. My experience also includes leading the design of systems for high-voltage energy storage and mentoring junior engineers, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and contributing to the development of advanced technologies in the field.
