Dr. Sakshi Sharma earned her PhD from the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi. She is currently a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Iowa State University, where she conducts advanced research on the Cybersecurity of modern power and energy systems.
Her work focuses on AI-enabled applications in battery energy storage systems, distribution network modeling, state estimation, and cyber-resilient energy management. She develops data-driven and optimization-based frameworks for operational control, grid analytics, and cybersecurity solutions in increasingly digital and distributed energy infrastructures.
Dr. Sharma integrates system-level modeling with hardware-in-the-loop and real-time simulation platforms to validate control strategies and assess cyber-physical vulnerabilities under realistic operating conditions. Her research spans battery diagnostics, energy-storage dispatch, DER integration, and secure distribution-system operation.
She has authored peer-reviewed IEEE publications and actively contributes to collaborative research initiatives aimed at building intelligent, resilient, and scalable energy infrastructures capable of supporting the next generation of electrified and digitally connected power systems.
