Theofilos Moraitis received the Integrated Master’s Diploma of Electrical Engineering in 2024 with first class honors, from the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering of the University of Patras, Greece For his Master’s Thesis, he focused on beyond-safe operating area (SoA) device characterization. Since his graduation, Theofilos joined the Electromechanical Energy Conversion Laboratory as a PhD candidate and a teaching assistant, instructing laboratory classes for the course of Electric Machines and Power Electronics offered by the school’s curriculum. His current research interests reside in bidirectional conducting & blocking devices, for their utilization in ultra-compact and power dense multi-level converters for applications in renewable energy sources.
