J. Hunter Hayes, Ph.D., is the Testing & Modeling Manager in the Ceramic Innovation Center at KEMET Electronics. Hunter graduated from Clemson University with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering in 2011, and a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering in 2017. At Clemson, his topics of research included electromagnetics, electromagnetic compatibility, power electronics, and vehicular electronics. In 2015, he began working for Proterra where he assisted in EV system design and integration, schematic and wire harness design, EMI troubleshooting, EMC compliance testing, and production and field service support. Hunter left Proterra in 2019 and began working at KEMET Electronics. His work at KEMET includes electrical and thermal testing, test development, and modeling. Apart from work, his other interests include spending time with family, music, Formula 1, and watching Liverpool FC and Atlanta United.
