This paper presents a GaN-based 3-kW Power Factor Corrector (PFC) for servers and telecom. A heatsink-free prototype has been realized, including bridgeless totem-pole topology and advanced control strategy for zero voltage switching (ZVS soft switching) operation with variable switching frequency. An outstanding 99.2% efficiency and 107 W/inch3 power density are achieved with power factor higher than 0.99 and THDi lower than 3% at full load.
