Radu Bojoi (IEEE Fellow) is currently a professor of power electronics and electrical drives with the Energy Department G. Ferraris, and Head of the Power Electronics Innovation Center (PEIC), Politecnico di Torino, Turin, Italy. He has authored or co-authored more than 200 papers covering electrical drives and power electronics for industrial applications, transportation electrification using wide-bandgap power converters, power quality and grid stability improvement with power electronics, and home appliances. He has been involved in many research contracts with industry for developing new products. His research outcomes have been transferred to different companies located in countries belonging to North America, Europe, and Asia. His cooperation with industry also included the training of several groups of R&D engineers, demonstrating how an academic solution should be translated into a feasible implementation inside a new product.
Dr. Bojoi received the Nagamori Award in 2019, and he is the co-recipient of ten prize paper awards. He has served as a Co-Editor-in-Chief of the IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics and is currently the Chair of the Industry Applications Society Awards Department.
