Burkhard Ulrich (he/him/his)

Reutlingen University

Burkhard Ulrich is a professor of power electronics at Reutlingen University. He received a Dipl.-Ing. (FH) in electronics engineering from the University of Applied Sciences Reutlingen (FH Reutlingen) and a Dr.-Ing. degree in electrical engineering from Dresden University of Technology (TU Dresden) in 2009. He worked with Siemens Munich and Stuttgart from 2004 to 2011 as a development engineer on power electronics circuit design and industrial switch mode power supplies. From 2011 - 2021, he has been a professor at the engineering department of Baden-Wuerttemberg Cooperative State University Stuttgart Campus Horb. In 2021, he joined Reutlingen University and its Electronics & Drives Lab as a professor of power electronics. His research focuses on the design of high-density and high-efficiency power conversion systems, primarily using resonant topologies and employing wide-bandgap (WBG) semiconductors. Further research interests are optimizing and systematic (computer-assisted) design of power conversion systems and the design of high-frequency magnetics.
