Liang Jia, Ph.D., Sr Staff Engineer and Sr Engineering Manager, is the Wireless Charging Tech Lead at Google. He oversees the technical roadmap and global engineering teams responsible for cutting-edge power solutions in Google Pixel Devices. Beyond his work at Google, Liang is a prominent industry advocate serving as the Co-Chair of the Qi Ecosystem Specification Work Group (SWG) at the Wireless Power Consortium (WPC). In this role, he drives strategic industry technology alignment and the release of next-generation standards, such as the Qi 2.2 25W MPP specifications.
As a Sr Member of the IEEE, Liang holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Queen's University. He is a prolific contributor to the field with 20 granted patents and more than 30 IEEE publications. His career is defined by merging technical excellence in power electronics with hands-on leadership to deliver high-impact consumer technology.
