Mr. Lokukankanamge Dinuka Mewan Peiris completed his Master of Science in Electrical Engineering at the University of Manitoba, Canada, in November 2025, graduating with a 4.5/4.5 GPA. He earned his B.Sc. (Hons.) in Electrical Engineering with First Class standing from the University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka.
During his graduate studies, he served as a Research Assistant in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, where his research focused on high-efficiency wireless power transfer (WPT) systems for electric vehicle applications. He designed and implemented a 2-kW WPT system achieving over 95% DC-DC efficiency. His work encompassed electromagnetic modeling, compensation optimization, zero-voltage switching techniques, and hardware implementation.
Prior to his master’s studies, he worked as a Business Analyst at McKinsey & Company, contributing to analytics-driven initiatives in the retail, energy, and public sectors across South and Southeast Asia.
His technical interests include power electronics, wireless power transfer, electromagnetic modeling, and advanced simulation of power systems.
