Born in Uberlândia, MG, Brazil, in 1976. He holds a degree in Electrical Engineering with an emphasis in Power Systems from the Federal University of Uberlândia (2001), a master's degree (2003) and a doctorate (2006) in Electrical Engineering with an emphasis in Power Electronics from the same university. In his doctoral thesis, he developed an innovative three-phase hybrid rectifier design for active power factor correction in high-power systems. In 2008, he joined the faculty of the Federal University of Uberlândia (UFU), where he has been developing teaching and research activities in the area of Power Electronics and Power Systems. Since 2010, he has been the coordinator of the Power Electronics Research Center (NUPEP) at UFU. In 2012, he received the 2nd Paper Award from the IEEE-IAS-Industrial Automation and Control Committee (IACC) for his contribution to the development of hybrid rectifier designs. Since 2013, he has been a researcher recognized by the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq) with a Research Productivity Grant. In 2024, he was promoted to Full Professor at the Federal University of Uberlândia (UFU). He has experience in the field of Electrical Engineering, with an emphasis on Electrical Power Systems, and works with research and development in the following areas: Power Electronics, Renewable Energies, and Power Quality. He is currently the Coordinator of the Postgraduate Program in Electrical Engineering at UFU.
