Zahra Saadatizadeh (Member, IEEE) has been an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Mississippi State University, Mississippi State, MS, USA, since August 2024. She was a Postdoctoral Fellow in power electronics at the University of Arkansas, National Center for Reliable Electric Power Transmission (NCREPT), from 2021 to 2024. She was a Ph.D. Visiting Scholar at Aalborg University, Denmark, from 2019 to 2020 and she earned her Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering/Power Electronics from the University of Tabriz in 2020.
Her research interests include power electronics converter/inverter design and implementation, renewable energy systems, and AI-optimized design automation methods for power electronics. She has authored or co-authored over 60 journal and conference papers.
Dr. Saadatizadeh received the 2023 Outstanding Reviewer Award from IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics (TPEL) and the 2025 Outstanding Reviewer Award from IEEE Transactions on Transportation Electrification (TTE). She is currently, serving as Associate Editor of IEEE TTE and has served as a session chair of several IEEE conferences, including IEEE ECCE 2022, IEEE ECCE 2024, and IEEE APEC 2025, etc. She was recipient of IEEE ECCE Women in Engineering (WiE) grant in 2022 and 2024. In 2025, she participated in the Entergy Faculty Extern Program in Jackson, Mississippi, to incorporate industry challenges of energy systems into classroom teaching.
