For Dickson voltage multiplier-based interleaved voltage-quintupler (5X) (DVM-5X), the conventional equal duty ratio control (EDRC) is able to provide five times voltage gain of the boost converter, but its two inductor currents are not balanced. In this paper, the sensorless current balancing control (SCBC) is proposed to yield balanced inductor currents and improve the conversion efficiency without sensing any current. The proposed control method is implemented in a Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) chip. The provided experimental results validate the proposed control.
