Xianglai Zeng, MS, is a PhD student in the Department of Electrical Engineering at the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, AR, USA. His research focuses on high-voltage power electronics, including series-connected SiC MOSFET voltage balancing, modular multilevel converters (MMC), and high-frequency high-voltage power conversion systems. His current work involves the design and experimental validation of low-cost active voltage balancing methods for series-connected SiC MOSFETs in medium- and high-voltage applications. His research interests also include power converter design, SiC device applications, and high-voltage PCB design.
